**Special notice. As from the 20th May 2018 the MOT test is changing in the UK. There are now more checks, different categories for defects, and stricter rules for diesel car emissions. Defects are now categorised into Dangerous, Major and Minor defects depending on how serious the problem is. Dangerous and Major defects will fail the MOT and minor defects will pass. The driving standard and license agency sets the charge of an MOT at £54.85. Our standard booking price is just £39.00 at all 3 of our branches. However if you book your MOT online there is a discounted price of £35.00.
Retests are free within 10 working days. If your car fails, we will quote you on any work that needs doing, you can complete the work elsewhere and bring your car back to be retested, or leave it with us and most things can be fixed the same day.
MOT’s typically take 45 minutes to complete, you can wait in our garage or drop it off and leave it with us, we will call you when its ready.

You may cancel online appointments up to 24 hours before your booking for a full refund. Once cancelled the money should be back in your account between 5-10 days. Any queries please don’t hesitate to call your local branch.
The MOT test checks that vehicles meet road safety and environmental standards. Below is a list of all checks included in an MOT.
Is free from excessive corrosion or damage in specific areas and there are no sharp edges likely to cause injury.
Has no leaks and the fuel cap fastens and seals securely. The fuel cap will need to be opened so be sure the key is available.
The vehicle meets the requirements for exhaust emissions, dependant on the age and fuel type of the vehicle.
Is secure, complete, without serious leaks and silences effectively.
All belts installed are checked for type, condition, operation and security. All compulsory seat belts must be in place.
The front seats are secure. Front and rear backseats can be secured in the upright position.
Latch securely in closed position. Front doors should open from inside and outside the vehicle. Rear doors may need to be opened to gain access to testable items.
The minimum numbers are on the vehicle, their condition and security.
Boot or tailgate can be secured in the closed position.
Their condition, operation and performance (efficiency test). Note the removal of the road wheels is not part of the test.
Their condition, security, size, type and tread depth. Spare tyres are not inspected
Their condition, security, characters correctly formed and spaced.

Securely latches in the closed position.
